about

Thank you for visiting my website.

It features photos from my early 35mm film work in the 1970s to my digital street photography through the 2020s.

A good friend, Vaughn, convinced me that buying a camera was a good idea in 1971 (an Exacta). I was 21 and had never considered taking photos before I picked up that camera. I was immediately drawn to taking portraits of friends, family, neighbors, roommates, and strangers on the street.

I recently went through over 6,000 B&W negatives from the 1970s and some of them are featured here. I go to events, parades, carnivals, and other gatherings, and sometimes walk the streets to get the results I like. I am starting to publish small books to keep a record of my work. For me and for my kids.

Enjoy. Ken Farrell
